Creamy Avocado Hummus

Ingredients

  • Crackers
  • 1 pkg (4 oz) CrunchmasterĀ® Multi-Seed Original
  • Canned Goods
  • 1 can (14 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • Produce
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 ripe avocado, halved, pitted and peeled
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • Oil & Vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Sauce
  • 3 tbsp sesame paste
  • Seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp each salt and pepper
  • Seeds and Nuts
  • 4 tsp sesame seeds, toasted

Directions

    1. 1. In food processor, mix together chickpeas, lemon juice, garlic, olive oil, sesame paste, cumin, salt and pepper until smooth. Add avocado; pulse until smooth (if too thick, add up to 2 tbsp water).
    1. 2. Transfer to serving bowl. Sprinkle with cilantro and sesame seeds. Serve with crackers for dipping.

 

Tips:

Substitute lime juice for lemon juice.

  • Spice up the hummus with a pinch of cayenne pepper or 1 finely chopped canned chipotle chili.
